Today i will show you have to install macOS Sierra final on VMware as a windows PC user, whether you are on windows 7,8 or windows 10 no matter the process will be same for both windows operating system.
Out of that for any reason, you may need to work with macOS or you may want to buy a Mac Computer and test the macOS different operating system before that. you can run macOS on VMware on Windows and test that before to confirm which operating system is the best choice for you.
I’ts amazing to install different multiple operating system on a single physical computer. without rebooting your host.

Required Files to Install macOS Sierra on VMware on Windows
- Download macOS Sierra VMware Image –
(One Full) VMDK File
- macOS Sierra VMware Image (5 of 5) Google Drive
- VMware workstation Player or VMware Workstation Pro
- Download VMware Tools – to Enable macOS Sierra installation on VMware
- Download WinRar – to Extract Zip Files
Steps to Install macOS Sierra Final on VMware on Windows PC
Step 1: Download macOS Sierra VMware Image & Extract
We Comprised macOS Sierra final VMware image with WinRAR Because Files can become corrupted when they are transferred over the internet in an uncompressed format. even a compressed file can transfer fast.
After Downloading macOS Sierra 10.12.6 fina VMware Image. you need to extract the file with WinRAR.
To do that Download and install WinRAR. Right click on macOS Sierra Final by TechCrowder.rar, Select “Extract Here”
This will take some time due to the size of macOS Sierra VMware image smaller file takes less time.
Step 2: Download and Install VMware Workstation
VMware Workstation is a Virtualization Software and best choice for all windows user to install different operating system on single physical computer.
Simply click on the setup file and follow the installation instruction.
VMware workstation pro is ready for the install you’re now one click a way. Click on “Install“.
VMware workstation Pro is ready now in your computer for any reason you need to work with different operating system you can install multiple guest operating system on VMware workstation pro, one of the are macOS Sierra final.
Step 3: Install VMware Unlocker
By default VMware Workstation doesn’t Support macOS installation you need to install the VMware Unlocker tool to enable the feature.
The installation is pretty simple just click on win-install.cmd file, Select “Run as Administrator”
This is a CMD extension file so the process will be done in CMD you don’t need to do more the work will be done auto.
Brilliant, Now you can install any macOS operating on VMware as a guest operating system by installing VMware unlocker.
Step 4: Create A New Virtual Machine
Open VMware Virtualization Software, no matter which edition you are using. for this article we are using VMware workstation pro.
Click on “Create a New Virtual Machine“. Select Typical Installation which is recommended. Go “Next”.
On the Guest Operating System Page select “I Will Install the Operating System Later.” Go “Next“.
On the second page you will have the option to select which operating system you want to install in this virtual machine. from the apple macOS X drop down select macOS 10.12 Version, which is the latest version of macOS Sierra released by Apple Inc. Go “Next“
Type your desired name for your virtual machine i suggest to use an exact name for each guest operating system you install more guest operating system this will help you to understand the guest operating system.
Note: make sure to store your virtual machine file out of your C:Drive. this will help you when you got problem with your host operating system you may go for the fresh installation host operating system.
Specify a Virtual disk size and store that in single file. click “Finish“.
Since here you have created a new virtual machine for macOS Sierra final to install as a guest operating system in Windows PC.
But our work is not fully completed we have to edit the virtual machine to add the VMDK file which we have downloaded. Follow the below steps for that.
Step 5: Edit Your Virtual Machine Settings
Editing any virtual machine settings is simple. click on the “edit virtual machine settings” as show on the image below.
After editing virtual machine setting the first thing, we have to do is to increase the Ram Memory of Virtual machine for better performance.
So here we will increase the Ram up to 4 GM. Which is recommended for any guest operating system.
Next we have to increase the processor, we add a 2 Core Processor to our guest operating system. that total processor cores will be 4.
Now we have add out Existing Hard disk File which is a VMDK File.
- Click on Remove to delete Virtual Hard disk from guest operating system.
2. Click on add, to add a new existing virtual disk image.
3. Select virtual disk type SATA.
4. Select use and Existing Virtual Disk and click on the browse button as shown on the right image below.
5. Navigate to the location where you have extracted the macOS Sierra VMware image file. select the Virtual Disk File and click on Open.
You are done, a popup will ask you to convert the image if that’s an older version of macOS Sierra. we are on the latest version so please select Keep Existing Format.
Step 6: Edit VMX File
Now we are one step away from installing macOS Sierra on VMware on Windows PC.
We need to add some codes on the VMX file of our guest operating system.
To do that browse the location, where you store your virtual machine files and look for the file with extension of VMX. Right click on the file and open with Notepad.
Past the Below code at the end point of the VMX file, Press “Control + S” on your keyboard to save the file and close the notepad.

Step 7: Play Virtual Machine To Install macOS Sierra Final on VMware
The macOS Sierra final installation is pretty easy. as a fresher follow the steps to install macOS Sierra on VMware on Windows. if you know the process you can skip this step.
After you play the virtual machine few second later you will see the macOS Sierra Welcome Screen. From here you can select your desired country and click on “continue“.
You have some amazing transfer feature if you need you can use. but for this article, we select don’t transfer any information now. and click on Continue.
macOS Sierra final provides some amazing transfer feature for their users. If you need you can use. but for this article we don’t need to use any transfer option. So Select “don’t transfer any information Now“.
On the installation process macOS Sierra will ask you to login with your apple ID to use the app sore after the installation, but don’t worry you can login that later as well so we skip this step.
The final step create a user account for macOS Sierra type and and secure your guest operating system with a Password. Click on “continue“.

Step 8: Install VMware Tools on macOS Sierra VMware
If you want to use macOS Sierra on VMware on Windows in Full screen vie. You have to install VMware tools. not only full-screen view this enables you to transfer files between your host and guest operating system, and much more.
Simply click on the VM from VMware workstation Pro navigation and select install VMware tools
Once the file is imported in your desktop a popup will open with the installation. click on the install VMware Tools. and continue the installation.
After installation completed you will be asked to restart your macOS Sierra Guest operating system click on “Restart“
when the macOS Sierra comes up after a restart process, you can use macOS Sierra guest operating on full-screen view.
Step 9: Update macOS Sierra final on VMware on Windows
Right Now we are on macOS Sierra 10.12, we will check for the latest update.
To do on your Mac to Click on Apple logo and click on “About This Mac“
Here you can see your macOS Sierra information click on “Software Update” to check for the latest update.
When you check for Update the app store will open auto look for the update. you can see on the image below that we have to download the macOS Sierra 10.12.6 update and install. click on Update All button on the right corner.
You will see a restart notification click on Restart now to install the latest update.
Installing macOS Sierra 10.12.6 update this will take some time to install the new update so be Petain and wait for the installation to be completed.
Waiting for macOS Sierra Final 10.12.6 will new security update and some cool features after completing the update installation you will have macOS Sierra final 12.10.6 as a guest operating system on VMware on Windows PC.
